Hello there 👋🏼 I'm Charm, a senior designer working across visual design, digital products, & interactive experiences for technology and consumer brands.

I enjoy figuring things out, especially when it means working through challenges with other people. I like asking questions, understanding how things fit together, and finding ways to make complicated things a little simpler. I'm usually happiest when I'm learning something new, exploring different ideas, and figuring out how to bring them to life.

I started my career in 2010 as a graphic designer, working across print, marketing, and web, including designing and building websites. Over the years, my work evolved to include branding, physical products, experiential design, UI/UX, and interactive digital projects. It's given me a pretty broad perspective, and I still draw from those experiences in the digital work I do today.

I studied User Experience Design at General Assembly; Arts & Technology at California State University, San Marcos; and Graphic Communications at Palomar College.

Over the past 15+ years, I've worked across agency, in-house, and consulting environments, both as a hands-on designer and in design leadership roles. I've collaborated closely with product, creative, engineering, marketing, and project teams, and have learned a lot from working with people who bring different perspectives and expertise to the table.

I was born in Quezon City, Philippines, and moved to Guam when I was four. I spent the rest of my childhood there, so both places feel like home in different ways. After high school, I moved to San Diego for college and spent more than a decade in Southern California before career opportunities brought me to Seattle in 2015. A few years later, I found my way back to California, living in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego before eventually returning to Seattle.

All of those places have shaped me in different ways and still influence a lot of what I’m drawn to creatively. I’m an island girl and Southern Californian at heart, yet somehow I keep finding my way back to the Pacific Northwest.

When I'm not designing, you'll usually find me wrangling my 4-year-old son, spending time with family, walking my dogs, trying new recipes, or attempting to catch up on all the things I said I'd do around the house. I also try to make regular trips back to the Philippines, which keeps me connected to my roots and inspires how I show up in my work.
